In a version of the famous heroine by Prosper Mérimée, the character of beauty is exalted, which seduces the public of all time also thanks to the very popular music of Georges Bizet to whom he dedicated an opera.

Carmen is set in a Spain read from the point of view of authors who color the exotic component, increasing the charm of the typical characteristics of the popular tradition of a land that was a crossroads of peoples and cultures. Bizet’s music is accompanied by works by other authors (Albéniz, Chabrier and Massenet) who look at the country and the Spanish people in the same way.

The way in which the characters experience elements such as fate, adverse destiny, superstition, passion, betrayal, jealousy up to the murder of honor, is still unchanged in theatrical or cinematographic productions to which the choreography refers.

Carmen with choreography by Fredy Franzutti, one of the most successful shows of the Balletto del Sud, debuted in 2008 at the Europa Auditorium in Bologna and has had more than 200 performances in the most prestigious theaters and international festivals, such as the Teatro Antico in Taormina, in 2010 at the Tirana Opera it was the inauguration event of the Teatro Grande di Pompei.
